Gary had 3 poles on the port side, one aft, one mid-ship, and one off the bow. I had 3 poles aft, and Steve the 3 on the starboard side.

To make sure everybody got a fish; the first person to catch a Chinook would give two of his poles to the others and fish with one. The next person to catch a fish would give up his two poles, leaving the last person with 7 poles in the water! When we all caught a fish, we'd rotate positions and go back to 3 poles each.
